Marcin Baranski. Borderland

Exhibition February 3 − March 24, 2019
The visual dictionary of self-taught artist Marcin Baranski is based on his architectural experience, as well as on a multitude of inspirations and impressions. He considers urban design, landscaped interiors, walkways, fences and decking to put at risk the space in which we are, in which we enter and leave, but cannot escape. In this space, applying his concept of symmetry, Baranski builds narrations, compiling household objects with cultural phenomena.

Instead of redrawing the boundaries, Baranski depicts his own cosmos, where the boundaries meet and merge. The use of color and contrasting geometry makes his paintings seem to affect our perception, andartist paintings seem surreal, but with a strong reference to everyday life.
