About the exhibition
«Eve"- an exhibition of new paintings by the London artist Katherine Goodman. Her work includes expressionist landscapes, energetic sketches, experimental collages and portraits.

Most of the works in the exhibition are bright and colorful paintings based on the landscape. Although these energetic paintings clearly do not represent the “Garden of Eden”, they include rich rural habitats, often with female figures or children merging into the landscape.

All the works of the artist begin with a life drawing, which is fundamental to her work. In his paintings, Goodman explores the coming of consciousness, referring to the story of Eve in Genesis. It shows the moment when we become aware of shame and lose our childish naivety, just as Eve is aware of her nakedness. These paintings explore the moral and existential issues caused by the disgrace and accusation of Eve, and the relevance of these traditions in modern society.
