The State Russian Museum hosts an exhibition "Woodcut from the collection of the Russian Museum".

The exhibition is a continuation of a series of projects of the Russian Museum dedicated to individual engraving techniques, the features of certain types of printed graphics and the history of their development in Russia.

Woodcut, or woodcut - the oldest type of printed graphics. The exhibition presents a large-scale panorama of the development of woodcuts from the end of the 17th to the beginning of the 21st century.

Among the exhibits are about 200 works from the collection of the Russian Museum, including works by such well-known masters as A. P. Ostroumov-Lebedev, V. D. Falileev, P. A. Schillingovsky, V. I. Kozlinsky, V. A. Favorsky . The subject and genre range of works is very extensive - from book illustrations of liturgical books (Bible, Gospel, etc.) to magazine satirical graphics, from popular prints to author prints. In addition to the prints themselves, among the exhibits are wooden printing plates and tools for engraving.
