"Drawings". Boris Leifer

In the city art gallery of Raanana there is a personal exhibition of Boris Borisovich Leifer with a modest title. "Drawings".
The exhibition presents all three favorite areas of painting of the author - portraits, still lifes and landscapes.
In portraits of young and old people, the artist seeks to preserve what cannot be preserved - that elusive and fundamental essence of human life, which simultaneously contains the intonation of despair - the recognition of its fragility.
Leifer's still lifes are staged works, which are miniature "scenes" of their kind, with a magnificent play of light and shadow, volume and perspective.
The lively and flawless beauty of the fruits and flowers of these works could be observed only in the paintings of Caravaggio and the Dutch masters of the XVI-XVII centuries.
The landscapes of the author are laconic and metaphorical, and sometimes they are striking in their realism.
