Sixties. Turkic romanticism

Russian Academy of Arts and the State Museum of Art of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A. Kasteeva present the exhibition “The Sixties. Turkic romanticism ".

The exhibition, deployed in the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts and the Zurab Tsereteli Gallery of Art, will feature more than 50 paintings, drawings and sculptures representing the works of artists of the 1960s.

Creative artists of the sixties (Salihitdin Aitbaev, Makum Kisamedinov, Shaymardan Sariev, Tokbolat Togusbaev, Bakhtiyar Tabiev, Abdrashit Sydyhanov, Erkin Mergenov, Tulegen Dosmagambetov, Vagif Rakhmanov, Isatai Isabaev, Oralbek Nurzhuman and others) is considered the heyday of artistic thought in Kazakhstan.

“Children of the Thaw,” as they were then called, abandoned established canons and created their own unique language and style in art.
