Country of disposable items

Exhibition February 15 − March 31, 2019
The Museum of Moscow hosts an exhibition of the Moscow graphic artist Ivan Yazykov "Country of disposable things"dedicated to the problem of the relationship between man and the world of disposable things.

At the exhibition, for the first time, viewers can see a large-scale graphic composition “Repair of disposable things” measuring 1.5 by 2 meters, on which the artist worked from 2014 to 2017.

Also, viewers will be able to see the work of Yazykov from the “lead” series - so named by the author along the lines of 18th century Italian paintings on urban and everyday themes. In addition, a number of so-called micro-frames - small genre illustrations will be presented at the exhibition.

In this thematic exhibition, instead of people in pictures, the main roles are played by disposable items, gaining their own face and character. The main goal of the artist is to draw attention with his works to how household habits and people's attitude to the environment have changed over the generations.

“Preserving and appreciating doesn’t mean just using it carefully. This means delving into the structure of objects, being able to disassemble, glue, retouch, and at the same time stop, concentrate, take the time to return the human world to the objective world, not a pressed-average appearance, and as a result, return the human appearance to itself . "

So you can characterize the essence and the main idea of the artist, seeking to lead the viewer to slow and meaningful consumption, to love and the ability to contemplate man-made life little things.
