Great Russian artists

Academy of watercolor and fine arts Sergei Andriyaki invites to the exhibition "Great Russian Artists".

The exhibition presents more than 350 exhibits of the national art of the XIX century - easel painting, printed and applied graphics, book illustrations, sculptures, works of decorative and applied and stage design art.

Visitors can see the masterpieces of Ilya Repin, Vasily Polenov, Viktor Vasnetsov, Valentin Serov, Konstantin Korovin, Zinaida Serebryakova, Leon Bakst, Yevgeny Lanceray, Mikhail Vrubel, Ivan Bilibin and other wonderful artists of the Silver Age.

The general public will get acquainted with many of the presented works for the first time. Exhibits for the exhibition were provided by the Abramtsevo Museum-Reserve, the Vologda Picture Gallery, the Maharbek Tuganov Art Museum (Vladikavkaz) and the Taganrog Art Museum.

A wide, diverse exposition acquaints visitors with a unique cultural phenomenon of the late XIX - early XX centuries, when realism and classicism, impressionism and post-impressionism, symbolism and numerous neostily coexisted, national-romantic direction and modernizing, decadence and vanguard.

The period, called the Silver Age, was a time when art pervaded everywhere. Artists designed buildings, performed monumental panels, painted easel paintings, sketches of furniture, costumes and scenery, illustrated books, created posters, postcards and decorated restaurants. The exhibits of the largest Russian museums, presented at the exhibition, allow once again to touch the unique cultural heritage.
