«David Park: Retrospective"- the first major museum exhibition for more than 30 years of his career as an artist, best known as the founder of fine art in the Bay Area.
In the early postwar years, the Park, like many avant-garde American artists, was fond of abstract expressionism and painted not objectively.
"David Park: A Retrospective" traces the entire career of an artist, starting with his early socialist realities and the cubism-inspired works of the 1930s and ending with his mature figurative paintings of the 1950s and his amazing final works on paper.
