Exhibition April 5 − May 26, 2019
«Ode to joy"- This is the first in the history of the Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art a retrospective exhibition of German art of the XVI - XX centuries. The exhibition includes more than 60 paintings, drawings, porcelain and books from the museum’s own collection. The exhibition introduces the creative work of gifted and bright painters - Christian Dietrich, brothers Riepenhausen, Karl Blechen, Andris Achenbach, Gabriel Max, Eugen Dücker, and others.

A separate section of the exhibition consists of graphic works - prints and drawings. These are unique ancient engravings from the museum funds, made by very famous masters Jacob Sandrart, Johann Riedinger, Johann Hyde.

The name of the exhibition is associated with the ode "To Joy" - the famous poem by Friedrich Schiller, transcribed by Ludwig van Beethoven and included in the last part of the famous "Ninth Symphony". The exposition is in tune with the verse and music, in which the unity of all people is extolled.
