Treasures of British Art: The Berger Collection

Exhibition March 2, 2019 − January 5, 2020
The exhibition shows about 60 paintings donated to the museum by the Educational Foundation of the Berger Collection in 2018.

The exhibition presents a chronological selection of works from the 1400s to the end of the 1800s, telling the story of the rich history of British culture.

«Treasures of British Art»Represent the 500-year history of British culture through the history of its people, captured by artists of the time.

The exhibition features religious images, portraits, landscapes and sports scenes of the greatest artists of the British school, including Thomas Gainsborough, Thomas Lawrence and John Constable, as well as non-British artists who spent considerable time in the UK, such as Anthony van Dyck, Benjamin West and John Singer Sargent.
