Dario di Giovanni. Research

Exhibition April 1 − May 31, 2019
ThisExhibition shows three 15th-century Italian paintings by the artist Dario di Giovanni and talks about discoveries made during nearly a decade of technical and artistic-historical research works.

These monumental works tell the story of the Spartan Queen Helena and Prince of Troy Paris. The paintings were created to celebrate the wedding of Catherine Corner, who after the wedding became the Queen of Cyprus.

A team of three conservatives from the Walters Museum and the curator of the exhibition worked together to bring these paintings to life, telling how the Venetians of the Renaissance could create them.
