Salvador Dali. Stairs to heaven

Exhibition May 3 − August 31, 2019
«Stairs to heaven»Salvador Dali presents two beautiful portfolios of the artist, his illustrations for the“ Song of Maldore ”by the Comte de Lotreamon and The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri

When Dali created the first portfolio in the 1930s, he accepted surrealism with his wildly creative landscapes. The libidous lifestyle that he and his wife were leading at this time is also evident in his work of the 30s. By the time he illustrated Dante's Divine Comedy in the 1960s, Dali abandoned surrealism and became a born-again Catholic. His personal life has changed dramatically, and now he accepted what he called divine or “mystical ecstasy,” which is evident in this second, famous portfolio.
