Leon Kelly. American surrealist

Exhibition May 3 − August 31, 2019
Leon Kelly (1901-1982) began his artistic studies in Philadelphia and Paris. Despite early financial difficulties, the artist succeeded, and his works were acquired by major museums, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art and the Whitney Museum.

However, the second half of his life was marked by voluntary isolation. His fame was dying in relative obscurity.

Almost 40 years after Kelly’s death, thisExhibition will be one of the first retrospectives covering the entire career of the artist.
