"Beatrice Gonzalez. Retrospective"will be the first large-scale exhibition in the United States, written by artist Beatrice Gonzalez.
At 81, Gonzalez is not only a world-famous Colombian artist, but also one of the few remaining members of a generation of so-called “radical women” from Latin America. Despite the fact that the artist's work covers more than six decades of intensive research, her revolutionary production, for the most part, is unfamiliar to viewers in the United States.
This retrospective, one of the most complete demonstrations of the artist’s works to date, is trying to correct this lag by presenting about 150 works, with examples from the early 1960s to the present, that embody the whole volume of Gonzalez’s work.
