Voice of the people: self-taught, outsiders and dreamers

"Voice of the people"combines a number of works by self-taught artists from the American South to showcase a significant collection of folk art at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Together, these works offer a broad perspective on the practice of a diverse group of artists who have much in common, perhaps the most important of which is of these, he created truly original works outside of any formal academic dialogue, an art drawn from life itself — intuitive, honest, and culturally e, in which it was created.
