Blind bag
Exhibition April 16 − May 25, 2019
Gallery POP / OFF / ART Center for Contemporary Art Winery will host an exhibition "Blind bag".
In this project, the Moscow duet of artists Vika Begalskaya and Alexander Vilkin will present a series of pictorial canvases and graphic sheets with canonical plots, heroes and images. The exhibition space is considered by the authors along with the plane of the canvas.
Sculptures and objects made of various materials: papier-mâché, plaster, and ceramics are located in the gallery space without pedestals and fences, in the same field with the spectator. Paintings become the stage and scenery of the narrative. Objects simultaneously act as a commentary on the painting and are evidence of the incident. Involving visitors in the process of restoring events from visual materials, artists, supporters of relativism in aesthetics, allow everyone to create their own space of meanings.
