The ARTIS Gallery and the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art present the exhibition Lety Dobrovolskaya and Ekaterina Shinkareva "Fake".
Presented paintings of artists, including abstract metaphysical spaces of the “Myth” series by Ekaterina Shinkareva and metaphorical compositions and three-dimensional figurative still lifes Leta Dobrovolskaya.
Deception (or tromplay, from the French “trompe-l'oeil” - an optical illusion) is a technique in the visual arts for creating the illusion of a three-dimensional image. Thanks to the game with visual perception, the viewer sees nearby objects as distant, and flat ones as volumetric and with spatial depth. Deception were popular throughout the history of the development of art since antiquity, gradually changing and becoming more sophisticated. Until today, the pictures of deception fascinate, confuse, remember, erase the boundaries between real and fictional, cause paradoxical associations and vivid emotions
