Crossing Place: Contemporary Art of Sri Lanka
Exhibition April 20 − June 10, 2019
At a time when contemporary art from Southeast Asia is receiving increasing attention all over the world, the Baik Art Gallery is pleased to present "Crossing Place", a unique study of contemporary art from Sri Lanka. The exhibition features works by famous Sri Lankan artists Jagat Virasinghe, Saskia Pintelon, Gayan Praget, Pakkiyaraja Pushpakantan, Chandragupta Tenuvara and Priyanta Udagedara.
The exhibition is dedicated to the special narratives and creative approaches of these artists in their work aimed at absorbing the social and political upheavals caused by the civil war in Sri Lanka from 1983–2009.
