Gallery Shcherbenko Art Center in the framework of Kyiv Art Fair 2019 will present the project "god of War»Belarusian artist Alexander Nekrashevich. The author has been working on the series for the last 15 years. The artist creates monumental canvases depicting modern militaristic objects in the symbolic context of the Middle Ages. Works amaze with skill of execution of the smallest details.
The artist connects two opposite images - the image of the temple and the image of a military aircraft. The first praises the Creator and perpetuates the skill of the architect. The second becomes a means of destruction and a bloody sacrifice. Both are the embodiment of a cult in which beauty exists alongside death, and luxury with cruelty.
Alexander Nekrashevich was born in 1973. He graduated from the Belarusian Lyceum of Arts, the Belarusian Academy of Arts. Since 2004 - member of the Belarusian Union of Artists. His works are in the collection of the Belarusian Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as in private collections in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Monaco, Switzerland, and the USA.
