Valery Pchelin and Igor Mikhaylenko. Sacred Forest

Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art presents the exhibition of Valery Pchelina and Igor Mikhaylenko "Sacred Forest"in which abstract painting and sculptural objects were combined.

The name of the project “Sacred Forest” is a tribute to the German-Scandinavian mythology, which tells about the origin of the world from chaos. The sacred forest is an image of reserve, a place of cult practices, a space that opens to a person in a state of transition to the limits of being.

Almost all bee sculptures have one common name - Drifters. They are in an evolutionary process, moving from chaos to synthesis. The sculptures are revealed to the viewer at the moment of assembly, depicted in different stages of the transition from composite elements to a single number, sum.

Painting Mikhailenko fluid, light. movable. When creating works, the artist applies the technique of washing off acrylic from the canvas, and then again paints the canvas.

Based on the materials of the official site Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art.
