Yuji Hiratsuka. Life in the era of Gendai

Erarta Museum of Contemporary Art presents an exhibition of Japanese graphic artist, who chose unusual techniques of intlagio and tire-colle “Yuji Hiratsuka. Life in the era of Gendai ".

Yuji Hiratsuka (1954) - graphic artist, professor at the College of Free Arts, University of Oregon, USA. Born in Osaka, Japan. Since 1985 he has been living and working in the USA, since 2010 he has been actively involved in international projects.

The exhibition opens to visitors a kind of creative world of the artist, belonging simultaneously to the cultures of the East and the West, and continues the artist’s project “City dwellers”.

The exhibition presents about 40 graphic works created in recent years and embodying reflections on modern life, the dialogue of cultures and art in the era of global circulation of artistic images.

Yuji Hiratsuka works in the technique of printed graphics, the complexity and impeccable perfection of which are one of the main achievements of the fine arts of Japan.
