Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art, together with the Dymchuk Gallery and the NT-Art Gallery, presents an exhibition of the classic Ukrainian transavangard Arsen Savadov "
Laboratory Orpheus". The exhibition is held in the framework of the festival" Odessa classics ".
The author’s works combine figurative painting and surrealistic abstraction. Overflowing with meanings and compositions filled with figures imply eccentric iconography, where people, animals, hybrid forms and geometric figures coexist. The artist - one of the first in the post-Soviet expanses - showed in a large format what our dark side dreams so much and that the “communist religion” forbade in every way.
Arsen Savadov was born in 1962 in Kiev. He graduated from the Kiev State Art Institute. Member of the Kiev art group "Paris Commune". He participated in numerous projects in Ukraine and abroad, particularly in Paris, London, New York, Chicago, Berlin, Venice, etc. He lives and works in Kiev.
