Sergey Usik. Pastel

Exhibition May 16 − June 30, 2019
The Academy of Watercolor and Fine Arts Sergei Andriyaka holds an exhibition of a virtuoso pastelist artist Sergey Usik.

The exhibition includes 43 paintings by the artist, who managed to put on drawing technique using pastel chalk along with oil painting on the strength of the impact on the viewer.

Sergei Usik - holder of the honorary title “Pastels of France Maitre”, a full member of a number of pastel societies in Europe, America and Russia, billboards and posters with works preceded by the most prestigious pastel contests in the world and the Biennale, is known as an unsurpassed master of the urban and lyrical landscape. There is no topic beyond his professional skill: with equal ease and convincingness he transmits splashes from the waterfalls of Iceland, the beauty of the autumn forest, the “February blue” of birch groves, the canals of his native St. Petersburg and the medieval castles of Germany.
