Details of the cosmos

Exhibition May 24 − June 23, 2019
The All-Russian Museum of Decorative and Applied Art holds a personal exhibition of Asi Feoktistova "Details of the cosmos".

The exhibition presents paintings of the artist. In total, the exhibition in seven rooms represented about 100 works that had not previously been exhibited in Moscow.

At the same time, the visitor will be able to touch what seems to be incomprehensible and realize the Universe through habitual, even everyday, objects. All pictures are nude (without frames) and touched (you can touch!). The project aims to change the relationship of the viewer and painting. The central piece at the exhibition was a multi-layered spatial pattern measuring 3 by 3 meters, into which you can enter and feel the painting from the inside. Meet your own fantasies, like a child in the looking-glass, and know the infinity of time and space. Work occupies a separate room.

The continuation of the exhibition are works where the main characters are color, movement and energy. Among them, large-scale canvas, written in the night when Notre Dame de Paris was burning. It depicts the red-hot walls of the temple. The emotional degree of work reflects the feelings of people shocked, like the author, by the events in Paris to the depths of the soul. Together, the paintings of the artist seem to create a single total installation, where the cosmos can be felt with your hands.
