Angels of the twentieth century

Exhibition June 13 − August 19, 2019
State Russian Museum presents the exhibition "Angels of the twentieth century".

An angel is an invisible entity, an ethereal being, herald or spirit, which in various religiously colored traditions is called by different names and presented in different forms.

A unique exhibition in the Benois Wing allows you to trace the figurative and semantic metamorphosis of the image of an angel in the work of many artists - from representatives of modernism, symbolism and avant-garde to our contemporaries.

The exhibition includes works of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied arts, photographs from the collection of the Russian Museum, JSC "Imperial Porcelain Factory", author's collections.
