Exhibition June 17 − October 3, 2017
In The Museum Barberini in Potsdam on June 17 opening of the exhibition "From the hopper to Rothko: the path of America to modern art." Visitors can get acquainted with the best paintings by American artists of the first half of the twentieth century, about which Europeans know so little. The exhibition covers works from impressionism to abstract expressionism in a variety of genres: landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, colour field painting. Paintings of such masters as mark Rothko, Edward Hopper, George inness, Marsden Hartley, Georgia O'keeffe, Milton Avery, Kenneth Noland, Helen frankenthaler, Richard diebenkorn, allow visitors to fully experience it, and that was America at the time.

The Barberini Museum organized an exhibition in conjunction with Assembly Phillips. Both sides believe it is a very profitable partnership in the name of art. Director Collection Dorothy Kosinski said: "We are pleased to send the most significant works from our collection in Potsdam, to represent modern American art Europe. The new Museum Barberini – a great place to show these objects".

The exhibition runs until 3 October.
