About the exhibition
The Stonewall uprising in June 1969 sparked a movement for the liberation of gays and the modern civil rights struggle for LGBT people.

Together with other museums and organizations throughout the city, the Woodmer Museum notesthe fiftieth anniversary of the Rebellion of Stonewall with works of art that can be seen in the Stairwell Gallery, which presents works by contemporary lesbian and gay artists.

Artists: Harry Sovjak, Linda Lee Alter, Virgil Marty, Louise Fishman, John Laub, Rochelle Toner, Jonathan Lyndon Chase, Drew Koler, Gilbert Lewis.
