Tang Contemporary Art in Hong Kong presents a solo exhibitionNiki de Saint Phalle. The exhibition includes ambitious works of the only artist admitted to the group “New Realists”. In addition to a fun, playful, colorful appearance, her works call into question a person, society, relationships, free from social restrictions imposed on women, and advocate for the universal empowerment of all women.
Niki de Saint Phalle was born in 1930 near Paris to the family of a banker, grew up in New York, where the family moved after the Great Depression. From the age of 16 she worked as a photo model, her photos appeared on the covers of Vogue and Life. Niki was brought up in New York, and then lived in France, working and exhibiting simultaneously in both countries and representing a living link between the artistic vanguard of the United States and France.
