Hauser & Wirth. Guillermo Kitita

Exhibition May 18 − August 11, 2019
Gallery Hauser & Wirth is pleased to present an exhibition of the famous Argentine artist Guillermo Cuitki. Calling on complex geometry and multi-level information on architectural plans and cartographic maps, Kuitka’s theatrical paintings explore dislocation topics.

Exhibitiondebuts in two new episodes made with a combination of abstraction and configuration characteristic of the artist: Family Idiot is based on a three-volume study by Jean-Paul Sartre's Gustave Flaubert, while the 18-piece piece Missing Pages causes the physical printing process books, in particular, unexpected combinations of images that appear during the pagination.

The exhibition will also include new theatrical paintings based on Kuitka’s long-standing relationship with dramatic art.
