Exhibition "
The life I deserve"consists of intuitive, unpleasant, often grotesque paintings by New York artist Gina Beavers (American, b. 1974). It turns digital images taken from social networks and the Internet into dense multilayered compositions bordering on sculpture.
Beaver works, built from densely accumulated acrylic or foam and filled with almost cinematic color, are both repulsive and alluring, highlighting the gap between our digital and physical life and how we consume, desire, and shape ourselves to reflect modern culture.
