Washington Printmakers Gallery: Matina Marki Tillman

Exhibition 1 − November 30, 2019
For Matina Marki Tillman, observing people has always been a way of understanding the world, and interpreting them on paper is a desire to communicate with the world. She sees her prints not as a series of portraits and human figures, but rather as a study of a person’s state, mood and state of mind.

The main theme of the artist is an exclusively human figure - as an intimate view of our personal life or everyday life and as a reorientation towards individuality.

The imprints of a human figure capture an expression that helps draw attention to the state of a person, and an internal rhythm that unites the chaotic elements that make up a person.
