Gallery Lehmann Maupin in Hong Kong presents an exhibition of works by the London artist Mandy El Sayeg
"Distribution". For the first personal exhibition in Asia, the author will present new paintings, sculptures and installations. The artist works with silk-screen printing directly on the canvas to create a surface for a multi-level drawing process applied to hand-painted grids. Working on painting, installation, drawing and writing, she is engaged in the separation of socio-political, economic and semantic orders, and also explores the poetic and linguistic possibilities of fragmented codes.
Mandy El Sayeg was born in 1985 in Malaysia. Lives and works in London. Received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Westminster, and then a Master of Arts degree in painting from the Royal College of Art in London. Participant of numerous exhibitions.
