Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528) has long been recognized as one of the most influential artists of the European Renaissance and one of the best printers in the history of art. Thirty-five woodcut illustrations and title page "Dürer's little passion, A book published in 1511, which presents scenes from the life of Christ, is now exhibited on the mezzanine of the Moss, as well as an example from Dürer's Great Passion (1497). Dürer's masterful performance of these engravings in combination with their wide distribution strengthened his reputation as a leading innovator and draftsman.
