Elements of the Future

Guillaume Apollinaire

Man at all times sought to see the images of the future. The desire to look into tomorrow is immanently human nature; it is, in fact, not so much a desire as a vital necessity. Without its own “concept of the future”, no religious system, school of philosophy or political doctrine can exist; A request for your own vision of the future exists in any social group.
The ways of creating predictions are changing, shifting from the field of transcendental to the field of applied knowledge, the scientific model; However, it is curious that in society there is not the crowding out of the old ways of knowing the future by new ones, but their quite successful “parallel existence”, literally from archaics to the present day.
Art, relying primarily on the "feeling of things", always gave even earlier, compared to theoretical models, predictions. Creative intuition allows the artist to anticipate the deep “tectonic shifts” that will occur in the life of society, and act not only as a soothsayer, but also as the direct creator of tomorrow.
We offer authors to speak in a project dedicated to today's vision of the future. The works, which are the result of the personal forecast of each participant, will become “elements of the future” created by the imagination of our contemporaries.
Project participants will try to answer questions about how they see the future of the individual and society. About how they see art in the future; what plastic means, materials, techniques will be used. What role will the social and conceptual component play in it?
