Group exhibition. Departures

Exhibition June 22 − September 30, 2019
Alisan Fine Arts in Hong Kong presents a group exhibition of three Chinese artists - Leng Hong, Lu Jian and Yi Kai. These three contemporaries emigrated from China in the late 1980s, and their work is viewed as a new wave of artists of the “lost generation”. The painters left a promising career in their homeland to continue assimilation, both socially and professionally, in western countries. They took the opportunity to study painting, to get acquainted with academic European traditions, social realism. Despite the success and recognition, each of them decided to free himself from the lack of confidence in artistic freedom in China and to be engaged in his creative work abroad.

This exhibition provides a platform to demonstrate the success of these often single-player projects, combining three in one show to highlight the geographical breadth of influences that have penetrated the Chinese tradition.
