In honor of the centuryPierre Soulazha Alisan Fine Arts Gallery presents a personal exhibition of the artist in Hong Kong. The exhibition includes his latest works, which give an idea of the versatility and originality of the talent of the master.

Pierre Soulage - a French artist, a representative of abstract art. Born in 1919 in Rodez. In the early forties, he studied painting at the School of Fine Arts in Montpellier. Later, the artist moved to Paris, where he began to work on his paintings, completely filled with abstract reminiscences. The author quickly gained fame, having received several prestigious international awards. In the paintings of Soulazha, the main formulant element is a smear. Its texture, direction and speed of movement, drops in density and color saturation form the “plot” of the picture, demonstrating the pace and sequence of the artist’s work. He worked on the stained glass windows of the church in Konka. The through theme of his work is black.

Works by Pierre Soulaj are represented in the collections of more than 300 museums, including the MoMA in New York, Tate in London and the National Art Gallery in Washington, DC. In 2014, the Soulages Museum opened in his hometown of Rodez. The artist currently lives and works in Paris and Sete, France.
