Exhibition August 22 − September 25, 2019
In Hong Kong, Tang Contemporary Art Gallery presents an exhibition of new paintings by a German artist Jonas Burgert. In his works, the author explores modern life and illustrates his vision of human existence.

The paintings depict human figures with painted faces, in strange costumes and with obscure objects. In the works of the master there are references to the Renaissance and Flemish masters, such as Jerome Bosch. The use of vibrant colors and grotesque shapes underlines the balance between memory and imagination. The painter is known for his monumental works, consisting of figurative visions and dramatic color contrasts.

Jonas Burgert was born in 1969 in Berlin. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin. He studied at graduate school with the artist Dieter Hacker. The artist's works are presented at numerous group exhibitions around the world. The artworks are in museums and private collections in Germany and America.
