Shapes bigger and bolder: Eva Hesse's drawings

Exhibition November 16, 2019 − February 16, 2020
“Crazy, like machines, shapes are getting bigger and bolder.” So Eva Hesse described a group of finished drawings in 1965 in a letter to her friend-artist Sol Levitt.

The idea of "bold forms»Can be applied to the entire work of the artist, to whom the Museum of Modern Art of the Ludwig Foundation devotes this exhibition.

This representative exhibition, from early figurative studies to abstract and expressive “drawings”, from erotic diagrams to preliminary sketches for sculptures, shows the special role of drawing played in Hesse's artistic practice.
