Palaces of Remembrance: Audrey Heckler Collection
The Audrey Hackler collection symbolizes the growth of the art of amateur artists in the United States and shows great interest in African American artists.

Over the past twenty-seven years, Heckler - a longtime and devoted patron of the American Museum of Folk Art - has surrounded herself with excellent examples of the most significant artists associated with this niche of art, among them Emery Bladdon, Alois Korbaz, William Edmondson August Klett, Augustine Lesage, Martin Ramirez, Thornton Dial and Anna Zemankova.

Exhibition "Palaces of memory"- an individual approach to each work and its creator. One hundred and sixty selected works created by more than seventy artists are combined with primary and secondary sources (statements by artists, oral histories, interviews and museum archives) or offer a more detailed consideration in the form of case studies with given their visual grammar, technical ingenuity and materiality.
