Bertoldo di Giovanni: Renaissance Sculptures
The Frick collection represents the first ever exhibition of the Florentine sculptor Bertoldo di Giovanni (c. 1440–1491), a famous student of Donatello, a teacher of Michelangelo and a big favorite of Lorenzo Medici.

More than twenty statues, reliefs, medals and figurines that make up almost all of his existing work will be presented at thisexhibition.

The exhibition will demonstrate the ingenuity of the artist’s projects in various media, including bronze, wood and terracotta, and will emphasize the unique position of the sculptor in the center of the art and political arena of Italy of the 15th century.
