Moscow Museum of Modern Art in collaboration with the Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of Lika Tsereteli
"Intuitive Topography".
The exposition was created jointly with Alexei Tregubov and outplayes the features of glass prevailing at the exhibition as a material refracting light and visually capable of changing the scale and shape of objects.
On the ground floor, ornamental miniatures in black and white and in bright colors are shown surrounded by wall paintings created based on the original works of the artist. A separate room is given under the screens of glass and wood, at the same time reminiscent of modern decorative and applied works using the patchwork technique and ancient stained glass compositions.
The second floor shows a series of glass vases and caskets, which the artist uses as a canvas and turns with acrylic paints and varnish into bright picturesque objects with patterns of smooth lines flowing into each other, abstract shapes and complex color combinations. Each exhibition hall is dedicated to a certain series and is a kind of small gallery, where the emphasis on objects is placed using light, tonal and special architectural structures.
