Museum collection. Fedor Zakharov. To the 100th Birthday

The Museum of Modern Art of Ukraine in Kiev presents the exhibition “Museum collection. Fedor Zakharov. To the 100th Birthday". The exhibition includes 65 works. The artist painted landscapes at different times of the year and day, masterfully conveying lighting effects - midday, twilight, night. Painted in an impressionistic manner, the flowers and landscapes of the painter demonstrate his interest in the black-and-white effects of day, night or sunset lighting.
Fedor Zakharov (1919-1994) - a recognized master of landscape and still life, the successor of the traditions of Russian impressionism in painting of the second half of the twentieth century. The author’s card is considered to be Crimean landscapes - blue mountains and vineyards stretching at their feet, the Yalta port and the architecture of old Bakhchisaray. The artist is called the founder of the impressionist school of painting in the Crimea. Zakharov settled here after graduating from the Surikov School in 1950. In his work, he combined the Russian realistic tradition of the nineteenth century with French impressionism and features of Soviet art in the first half of the twentieth century.
