Exhibition November 18, 2019 − January 19, 2020
The Central Exhibition Hall "Manege" in the framework of the VIII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum opens a large-scale exhibitionDeineka / Samokhvalov.

The exhibition will present 300 works from 37 museums and 9 private collections: painting, graphics, sculpture, arts and crafts, photography. According to the curator, the hall is divided into six main sections: war and peace, labor and sport, heroes and children. In each of the sections there is an internal dialogue with many semantic and formal intersections.

Deineka and Samokhvalov were members of close art associations - OST and The Circle of Artists, worked on similar topics, created works whose heroes were Red Army men and athletes, miners and metro builders. Both were Soviet artists, open to global trends - despite the fact that Deineka was associated with Moscow, and Samokhvalov with Leningrad.
