Great Realism & Great Abstraction

Exhibition November 13, 2019 − February 16, 2020
Drawing plays a special role in the twentieth century. He has always been a means of search, invention, and experimentation. In the modern era, drawing has also gained independence and autonomy and has become an environment of free thought. In its diversity, it also reflects the complexity of the rapidly changing culture and society of the twentieth century.

About a hundred graphic works of the twentieth century are examined on the basis of various aspects, such as the relationship of artists to reality, how they questioned, developed or undermined traditional visual ideas.

Pencil sketches, vibrant color pastels and watercolors, as well as monumental collages presented at the exhibition "Great Realism & Great Abstraction"also reveal the technical variety of drawing methods and the specific features that artists have used.
