Alphonse Mucha. Fly - women of fate

Exhibition November 23 − December 25, 2019
Sogo Museum of Art in Yokohama presents the exhibition "Fly. Women of Fate". The exposition included about 150 posters, decorative panels, oil paintings, drawings and watercolors of the Czech painter Alfons Mucha - one of the pillars of the Art Nouveau style.

The posters created by the artist in the 90s of the XIX century in Paris are the most famous part of his creative heritage worldwide. It was thanks to them that he approved his own new decorative style. The most famous were posters created for the famous actress Sarah Bernhardt. The significance of the artistic revolution produced by the author was that he brought aristocracy to the “noisy” Parisian “street salon” and emphasized the new role of the poster in contemporary art.
