Exhibition October 12, 2019 − April 11, 2020
The exhibition center "Hermitage - Vyborg" hosts a large exhibition “From neoclassicism to impressionism. 19th Century French Painting and Sculpture from the Hermitage Collection ”.

The exhibition presents 38 paintings from the collection of the State Hermitage and 36 works from bronze, marble and terracotta: they provide an opportunity to appreciate the diversity of the Hermitage collection and introduce you to the main styles, movements and genres of 19th-century French sculpture.

The exhibition space includes four thematic sections that combine paintings and sculptures. Expositional logic moves from the Enlightenment to the second half of the 19th century. The exhibition is characterized by a variety of presented genres and directions. Viewers will see picturesque and sculptural portraits, works in the animalistic and everyday genre, landscapes and historical scenes and will be able to observe how these plots are refracted in the era of neoclassicism, romanticism, realism and impressionism.
