The Museum of the History of Kiev hosts an exhibition of Nikolai Zhuravlya "Painting. Levkas". Each picture presented in the exposition is filled with stylistic reflections and light. The artist masterfully combines painting, gesso, graphics and sculpture into a single composition, without violating the integrity of the created images. The author combines the legacy of Byzantine art and icon painting. The result is original works that can be called modern icons.
Nikolai Zhuravel was born in 1960 in Magnitogorsk. He graduated from the Crimean Art College in Simferopol and Kiev State Art Institute. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, academician of the Roman Academy of Contemporary Art (Italy). He participated in the XII Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art (2019, Florence Biennale, Italy), exhibitions Texas Contemporary (2019 Texas, USA), International Fall Exhibition, MORA (2019 New York, USA). The artist's works are stored in many museum and private collections.
