Korniliy Ustianovich. Artist of Ukrainian Renaissance in Galicia

In Lviv, the National Museum. A. Sheptytsky presents the exhibition "Korniliy Ustianovich. Artist of Ukrainian Renaissance in Galicia», Dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the painter. The exposition includes more than 70 art and graphic works of the author from museum collections and private collections. The master worked in various types and genres of fine art, with his innovative searches and undertakings in national art.

Korniliy Ustianovich (1839-1903) is a Galician icon painter and artist, one of the founders of the national school of realistic painting in Galicia, a representative of the Vienna school of painting. Writer, publisher, poet and public figure of the Slavophile sense. At first he was a supporter of the Galician Russophile movement, later switched to the position of the Ukrainianophile movement.
