Fiery heart

Exhibition December 20, 2019 − February 10, 2020
Kiev gallery Bereznitsky Art Foundation presents an exhibition of works from the 1960s – 1980s from its collection “Fiery heart". The basis of the exposition is the work of "severe style" - the first genre of Soviet painting. This style removed from "happy carelessness and heroic posturing" towards the uncompromising and merciless truth about a person and his world. Art was a kind of religion of this time - it enlivened, imparted corporality to the slogans that the artists created by order.
Despite the outward passive conformism, the vanguard of the creative world in workshops and laboratories created a new aesthetic platform, more formal, subtle and informative, focused on personal experiences.
