Graceful lines: American paperwork

Exhibition November 25, 2019 − March 22, 2020
American artists of the 19th century, using drawing, presented almost all facets of everyday life, whether it be records of their travels, custom-made illustrations, portraits of loved ones or studies of a passerby on the street.

Exhibition "Graceful lines"notes the recent gift of Paul Stein, which will be exhibited for the first time in the museum. In addition, the exhibition presents a set of watercolors borrowed from Stein. Together these works emphasize the diversity of creators (women and men, famous and little-known) and the range of use (from everyday to formal) related to paper work in 19th-century America.
